Scott E Gerard DDS

Dr. Gerard was born in Washington DC.  He grew up in Vienna, Virginia and graduated from James Madison High School. After graduating from the University of Virginia, he attended the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry where he received his DDS degree in 1987. Dr. Gerard completed a General Practice Residency at the VA Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV in 1988 before returning to the Medical College of Virginia for a Certificate in Endodontics which he completed in 1990. Since graduating, Dr. Gerard has been in private practice in Chesterfield County and the Tri-Cities area.

Dr. Gerard is currently a member of the American Association of Endodontists, the American Dental Association, and the Southside Dental Society. He is also a member of the Nottaway Dental Study Club, the Virginia Academy of Endodontists and the Southern Endodontic Study Group. Dr. Gerard holds a part time position as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Endodontics at Virginia Commonwealth University.
Ellen Rives Oertel DDS, MS

Dr. Oertel grew up in the Tri-Cities, she is a graduate of Colonial Heights High School. She attended James Madison University and graduated Cum Laude with a BS in Medical Technology. She worked in microbiology at MCV for four years before entering dental school. After graduating from the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry in 1992, Dr. Oertel practiced as a general dentist in Dinwiddie County for 11 years. Her next pursuit was to do an endodontic specialty residency at Virginia Commonwealth University where she earned a Masters degree in 2005.

Dr. Oertel is currently a member of the American Association of Endodontists, American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, and the Southside Component. She is a member the Metropolitan Academy of Dentistry study club and the Southern Endodontic Study Group. Dr. Oertel also holds a part time position as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Endodontics at Virginia Commonwealth University.
